Statement
I love putting faces on objects. Faces give character and life to anything imaginable, which brings me joy. I am a mixed media sculpture artist primarily working with ceramics, textiles, and various air-dry clays. I am a mixed media sculpture artist primarily working with ceramics, textiles, and various air-dry clays.
Creating gives me a sense of safety navigating the world. The layers of my identity as a biracial multicultural woman can feel heavy and complex, and having a space to decompress, think, and create allows me to reconnect with myself.
My work as well as my personal decision making is rooted in play, experimentation, and curiosity. My sculptures and clay characters emerge through problem solving, intuition, and happy accidents. I am inspired by how my experiences shape the way I interpret the world and how the world interacts with me in return.
